Organized in 1916, NCBA CLUSA has more than 100 years of experience in International and Cooperative Development. Since 1953 it has worked with communities in more than 90 countries around the world. We currently carry out activities in 26 countries in Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia.
We are implementing partners of development projects with the United States Agency for International Development - USAID and the United States Department of Agriculture - USDA. We also work with different government entities, foundations and the private sector (Government of Norway, Master-Card Foundation, McCormick & Co. among others).
NCBA CLUSA Guatemala, has been executing projects in the Altiplano of the country (Huehuetenango, Quetzaltenango, Quiché, San Marcos, Sololá, Totonicapán), attending to local needs at the community level that facilitate sustainable economic and social development, including financial mechanisms with a territorial approach, associative and cooperative work, agriculture sensitive to nutrition, gender and social inclusion, capacity building, articulation and development of enterprises and businesses, among others.
In recent years, within the framework of the Phase V Cooperative Development Program, support activities have been carried out on key issues related to irregular migration, indigenous peoples and social inclusion.
The National Association of Cooperative Businesses CLUSA International -NCBA CLUSA-, is the leading voice in the United States of America for people who use cooperatives to build a better world. Our mission is to develop, promote and protect the cooperative enterprise.
NCBA CLUSA works to build a better world and a more inclusive economy that empowers people to contribute to shared prosperity and well-being for themselves and future generations.
By leveraging the shared resources of the cooperative movement, we seek to engage, partner, and empower people from all walks of life, particularly those left behind by a changing economy and who face the greatest economic and social barriers. We achieve this vision through collaborative partnerships in development, advocacy, public awareness, and thought leadership.
NCBA CLUSA seeks to alleviate poverty through social and economic empowerment. Our associative and cooperative strategies provide innovative local solutions that promote sustainable economic and social development. We act as advocates and promoters of inclusive economies.
NCBA CLUSA envisions a world where people have the knowledge, resources, and authority to build prosperity and well-being, for themselves and future generations.
Uno de los objetivos del Programa CDP V de USAID en Guatemala, is to contribute to the promotion and strengthening of the cooperative movement in the country, paying special attention to the approaches related to high-impact issues, seeking, among others, the development of opportunities for young people, empowerment for women and promoting projects that allow reduce the migration flows of Guatemalans to the United States of America.
It is a non-profit foundation with a national and international focus, which since 1944 promotes community, economic and social development through cooperative companies. CDF provides grants for various areas within which we can highlight training scholarships for cooperative members and funding for research; as well as technical assistance and education, to promote a better understanding of how cooperativism works, and create sustainable cooperatives.
Its mission is to promote and develop cooperatives to improve economic opportunities for all.
Ente rector del cooperativismo en Guatemala, se encarga de fomentar el cooperativismo, proporcionar asistencia técnica y administrativa y llevar el registro de cooperativas del país.
Entidad Estatal a cargo de la fiscalización y vigilancia permanente de las cooperativas, federaciones y confederación, adscrita a INACOP, con independencia funcional, administrativa y económica.
Fundada en 1961, universidad católica privada, nombrada en honor al poeta guatemalteco. Forma parte de la Asociación de Universidades confiadas a la Compañía de Jesús en América Latina. Cuenta con presencia nacional y posee facultades que atienden a las diferentes ramas académicas.
